Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Cavanaugh loaded trucks with the US Postal Service for 15 years. For 10 of those years, he attended night school and earned his BA from Rutgers University Newark and then his law degree from Seton Hall School of Law.

In 1986 Mr. Cavanaugh joined the firm as a law clerk and in 1989 became an Associate with the firm until 1993 at which time he undertook a solo practice in Jersey City. He also served as a Municipal Public Defender during this time. From 1997-2001 he served as a Councilman for the City of Jersey City and as a Trustee of the North Jersey Transportation Planning Authority. In 2001 Mr. Cavanaugh rejoined the firm and is now a member of the firm's executive Committee.

Mr. Cavanaugh's practice areas include: Real Estate Development, Municipal Land Use Law, Environmental Law and Government Relations.

Mr. Cavanaugh's background in governmental matters provides a unique component to the firm's ability to achieve client goals.
