Neal Zimmermann

Mr. Zimmermann was admitted to practice in New Jersey in 1973, and he has been with the firm since 1985. He is a Senior Partner.
His practice includes land use, commercial real estate and commercial litigation. His land use activities include state and local approvals for regional malls, office buildings, apartment buildings, and hotels for national and regional developers and redevelopment law. His commercial real estate practice includes the negotiation of leases, real estate contracts, mortgage documentation and reciprocal easements, as well as serving as local counsel to national law firms for due diligence activities and opinion letters. His litigation practice includes diverse matters such as chancery practice, lender liability, probate, commercial landlord tenant and title insurance defense work. He has numerous reported decisions, covering a wide variety of practice areas.
Mr. Zimmermann is the lead attorney in the firm's representation of The Bergen County Utilities Authority. He also serves as a court appointed mediator.

Mr. Zimmerman received his undergraduate and law degrees from Georgetown University and a masters degree from Rutgers University, where he was a graduate fellow at the Eagleton Institute of Politics. He was a Law Secretary to Hon. Robert L. Clifford of the New Jersey State Supreme Court, and he served as a member of the Committee on Character of the New Jersey State Supreme Court for 12 years, including five years as chairman of the Part on Out of State Candidates. He also served on the State Supreme Court Ad Hoc Committee on Bar Admissions.
Mr. Zimmermann serves on the Board of Directors of the Greater Newark Conservancy, a non-profit dedicated to environmental learning and community engagement. He resides with his wife and family in Montclair, New Jersey.
