John B. Wefing
Position: Of Counsel

John B. Wefing has been of counsel to the firm for the past fifteen years. He holds the Richard J. Hughes Chair in Constitutional and Public Law at Seton Hall University School of Law. That chair was created by the State of New Jersey in honor of the former Governor and Chief Justice of the State of New Jersey. Professor Wefing has tought at Seton Hall for more than thirty years where he also served as Associate Dean and Acting Dean. He has written extensively in the areas of criminal law and New Jersey Constitutional Law. He has received numerous awards at Seton Hall and was also selected by the State Bar Association as Young Lawyer of Year.

He has taught as a visiting professor at St. John's Law School and Catholic University and has served as an adjunct professor on many occasions at Rutgers University Law School in Newark.

He has also worked for the New Jersey Attorney General's Office, Passaic County Legal Services. He served as the Planning Board Attorney for the Town of Kearny for almost twenty years.

He has been active on numerous bar association committees as well as Supreme Court Committees and Governor's committees.

A graduate of St. Peter's College and Catholic University Law School, where he twice represented his school in the National Moot Court Competition winning the Washington District on both occasions, he also holds a masters degree in law from N.Y.U.

For the last seven years he has also served as counsel to the firm, written wills and briefs, and given advice to various clients on differing legal matters.
