Perry Florio
Position: Member
Mr. Florio is a Partner with Waters, McPherson, McNeill, P.C. and has been associated with the firm since 1987. He received his Bachelor's Degrees in Political Science and Classical Civilization from New York University in 1984 and his Juris Doctor from Seton Hall University School of Law in 1987. He was admitted to practice in New Jersey in 1987, the District of Columbia in 1996, and is a member of the American, New Jersey State, District of Columbia and Hudson County Bar Associations. He also presently serves on the Board of Trustees for the United Way of Hudson County and previously served on The Supreme Court of New Jersey District Ethics Committee for Hudson County, District VI as Chairman.
His legal activities have been focused on transactional work, title insurance defense, commercial foreclosures, loan workouts and condominium and community association practice. In recent years the emphasis of his transactional practice has been in commercial real estate financing and acquisition in connection with the acquisition and refinancing of office buildings, retail facilities and warehouses, including but not limited to acting as local New Jersey counsel for out of state clients. His foreclosure practice has been concentrated on problem loans acquired by clients from various lenders, the FDIC and, previously, the Resolution Trust Corporation. Clients to whom he has provided substantial service include, Lincoln Property Company, Englehard Corporation (now BASF Cataysts, Inc.), Reckson Realty Associates, Worldwide Wholesale Floor Coverings, Inc., Oaktree Capital Management, L.L.C., Brookdale Living Communities, Equity Residential, AMB Property, BBV Real Estate, Conoco Phillips, Lehman Brothers Holdings, Old Republic National Title Insurance Company, Candlewood Hotels, , Remington Hotel Company and Remington Development Company.
