W. Cary  Edwards

Of Counsel

Mr. Edwards has been a Commissioner and Chairman of the New Jersey State Commission on Investigation since 1997. He is a 38-year legal practitioner and is “of counsel” to the firm. His practice focuses on all levels of governmental matters, complex civil and criminal litigation matters, appellate cases, environmental law, and land use and development.

Mr. Edwards served as the Attorney General of the State of New Jersey, as the Chief Legal Counsel to Governor Thomas H. Kean for four years, as a member of the NJ State Legislature and legislative leader, and as a local Council member and Council President in Oakland, New Jersey.

He is a Life Member of the Board of Trustees of Monmouth University, Lead Director of the Board of Directors of South Jersey Industries (NYSE:SJI), and Chairman of the Board of South Jersey Sanitation, Inc. He is a charter member of the Board of New Jersey Future, a Visiting Associate (and former adjunct professor) at the Eagleton Institute of Government, Public Policy and Politics, and a member of numerous other community and volunteer organizations.

Mr. Edwards is the recipient of five Honorary Doctor of Law degrees and over 100 public service awards.
